Transforming street kids to savvy entrepreneurs
Street Kids International helps youth living and working on the street. By teaching street youth about running their own businesses – dealing with customers, calculating profits – they can help themselves and their communities.
Click below to see a film about how this is working on our project in Ethiopia:
At Street Kids International we aim to be so effective that we work ourselves out of a job. Our sustainable approach sees us train local youth workers to support the youth in their own communities. By encouraging an entrepreneurial spirit in street youth, we inspire them to start or grow a business; showing how to attract and keep customers; and, importantly, keep control of cash flow.
When street youth leave our training programmes, they walk away with a business plan in one hand and a dream in the other. Put simply, we don't hand out money, we show street kids how to make it.
Our Expect More campaign is about expecting more for street youth, more from your donation and more impact from Street Kids International.
One generous donor is matching every pound you donate up to our target of £75,000. Together with Gift Aid on your donation and the match, every £1 you donate is worth £2.50 to Street Kids. Find out more here.
