On Saturday 7th June 2014 Street Kids Direct supporters took to the streets of Amersham to organise the annual COIN RACE.

The day started with 3 hours of rain and then the sun came out and with the sun came supporters and shoppers who helped us line Sycamore Road with coins.

This year the theme was THE WORLD CUP and so the street was decorated with Guatemala on one side and England on the other.  The boys supported Guatemala and the girls supported England, so it was boys vs. girls once again!  The challenge was on the boys who had been beaten by the girls the last 2 years and they had to raise more than the girls this year in order to hold their heads up high.

For every £100 that was raised on each side a football was given to that team and scores were kept but from the beginning the boys took the early lead and sadly the girls were never able to catch up.  The final score was 9-5 to the boys, so well done to the boys but a HUGE THANK YOU to all those who helped on the day in all sorts of ways and those who donated.

The 2015 Coin Race is booked for Saturday 30th May from 9am to 5pm.

Here are some of the photos from the day...
